Location: 11km to Surfers Paradise

Central Gold Coast, Approximately 11 km from Surfers Paradise

Golf club, acreage living

Mudgeeraba and Tallai are long established areas that have retained a relaxed, easy atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the more populated coastal areas of the Gold Coast. While these suburbs have a village atmosphere they are still well populated and contain substantial essential services and commercial, retail facilities. The suburbs have golf courses and recreational parks with organised sporting clubs, as well as heated swimming pools and a skating park.

Mudgeeraba is directly across the Pacific Motorway from Robina and is a short drive to Robina Train Station, Robina High School, Robina Town Centre and St Vincent's Hospital. Like nearby Worongary, the large residential allotments are particularly attractive given their proximity to the rest of the Gold Coast. Many of the original houses have been restored, and the heritage and historical appearance of the area is preserved despite the new developments that have been taking place.

In the more sparsely populated Tallai, large homes are being built on acreage in hilly areas to take advantage of the views over the coastline in the distance. Homes along Earle Ct and The Panorama have excellent views. The majority of houses in Mudgeeraba and Tallai are Queenslanders and colonial houses. There is little vacant land in the area, but there are some new houses being built on smaller blocks.

Mudgeeraba Primary School caters for younger pupils, and older children can travel to Robina High School and an assortment of private schools in adjacent suburbs such as those in nearby Merrimac. There is also a school for disadvantaged children in Mudgeeraba. There are good local retail facilities in Mudgeeraba and Tallai, and some restaurants.

In the 2001 Census, Mudgeeraba had 8633 people living in the suburb with a median age of 34, compared to the wider Gold Coast's median age of 38. The median individual income was between $300 and $399 per week, lower than the city's median of between $600 and $699. Of all occupied private dwellings 72 per cent were either fully owned or being purchased, while 23 per cent were being rented
